The essence of human life is based on fundamental values that transcend cultural, social and personal differences: love, connection, and self-sacrifice. It is this ability to create deep connections, to demonstrate compassion and kindness that gives meaning to our existence. Kindness, in this context, is a powerful way to embody this essence.  to share a part of ourselves with others, and to contribute to collective harmony.

These values are pillars of human happiness and are often underestimated. We need to be loved, to love, to give and to receive. These acts create a virtuous circle that enriches our lives, making us more resilient in the face of challenges…. So, the essence of human life is found in this ability to be determined in our quest for meaning while being kind to those we meet on our path (obviously, it's not about being blessed yes-yes, and believing that everyone is beautiful and kind, not at all, because some people don't deserve or OUR kindness, nor our empathy…). It is based on the balance between the love we give to others and the love we give to ourselves.

The art of kindness, a precious exchange in a world that lacks humanity !

I chose to talk about taking the time to rediscover essential values, often forgotten in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Today, I offer you a reflection on an art that is being lost: kindness. In a time where everything moves quickly, where we are often absorbed by our own concerns, kindness takes the form of a hidden treasure, a discreet force which, however, has the power to transform our lives and our relationships.

Kindness, a simple but powerful gesture…

It's much more than that. It is a true human exchange, a form of interaction that enriches both the giver and the receiver. Unfortunately, in today's world, where productivity and efficiency reign supreme, this art seems to be fading...

However, kindness does not need big gestures to exist, being embodied in these small everyday touches, these shared smiles, these words of comfort or these gestures of mutual aid which cost nothing, but bring so much...

“ You can never do an act of kindness too soon, because you never know how soon it will be too late. ” Ralph Waldo Emerson

Doing a lot with a little means understanding that even a small act can have a huge impact. Offering a kind word to someone who is having a bad day, reaching out without a second thought, etc. This nourishes human interactions and creates an atmosphere of kindness.

These small gestures are often underestimated, even though they can profoundly transform our environment.

The essence of human life: Give and Love

Kindness is above all a form of giving. Whether giving time, attention or energy, every kind act is a form of love in action. Giving is not measured by quantity or material value, but by the sincerity with which we do it.

It’s a way of reminding those around us how much they matter, that they are seen and heard. However, just like with love, it is important to give without losing sight of balance. Kindness is a gift that should not turn into sacrifice. We must learn to give while preserving ourselves, to offer love and attention without exhausting ourselves. Furthermore, kindness does not consist of always going in one direction, that is to say towards that of others, not at all, it is a question of reciprocity. Likewise, we often forget a fundamental aspect of this art : kindness towards oneself.

Kindness towards oneself: a priority

Taking care of yourself means respecting your own limits, know how to say no when necessary, and remember that we also need kindness. By preserving ourselves, we can better give to others, in any case those who deserve it and respect us.

Helping others, being generous, these are admirable qualities, but they should not be practiced to the detriment of our well-being. Finding a balance between generosity and self-care is crucial.

Self-kindness is not selfish, on the contrary, it is essential for maintaining a virtuous circle of shared well-being, as well as for our mental well-being and our inner peace. As is often said : “ You can’t pour from an empty cup. ” [It is by taking care of ourselves that we can truly be there for others, with all the sincerity and energy that that requires.]

Through kindness and love, another essential aspect allows us to continue moving forward in our relationships and our projects: determination.

Determination : an unwavering force

It is the force that keeps us on the path, that prevents us from giving up in the face of obstacles, and that helps us stay focused on our goals.

In a world that demands us from all sides, it is sometimes difficult to stay the course. Determination helps us persevere, even when the path seems rocky. It is she who pushes us to continue to be kind, even when we feel like our kindness is not always recognized or reciprocated.

The combination of determination and kindness creates unwavering strength. Because being determined does not mean being harsh or insensitive. This means knowing how to stay true to your values, even when circumstances are not easy. Kindness brings gentleness and humanity to this perseverance.

A virtuous circle: give, receive, preserve yourself

By finding this balance between giving to others and preserving ourselves, we can create a virtuous circle of well-being. Kindness, when understood and practiced well, does not exhaust us. On the contrary, it enriches us. It strengthens bonds.

Taking a moment to pay a little attention, listening to someone with empathy, or offering help... these are gestures that create a warmer world. And when we in turn grant ourselves these moments of kindness towards ourselves, we strengthen our capacity to continue giving without losing ourselves.

Love and kindness are not finite resources, but renewable energies. The more we cultivate them, the stronger they become. The world needs this: people determined to be kind, while also taking care of themselves.

Rediscover the art of kindness

In a world where everything seems to be moving too “fast,” it is essential to remember that we have the power to do a lot with a little. Kindness doesn’t need much to exist, but it has the power to transform our lives and the lives of others.

Giving, loving, being kind, these are acts that may seem trivial, but which, in reality, are essential foundations for creating a more harmonious and more human environment, whatever the relationship or area of life.

Let us remember that kindness begins with ourselves. It is possible to be both generous and protective of your own well-being. Together we can make this world a warmer place.

So, let's take a moment, today, to rediscover this lost art and to make kindness an integral part of our daily lives.
